De motor heeft een koppelstijging van 31 procent. De trekker weegt 10.280 kilo. Net als zijn broertjes heeft de Atles 946 een Funk full power shift transmissie met 18 versnellingen vooruit en 8 achteruit. De optionele kruipbak verdubbeld het aantal versnellingen. Verder zijn alle transmissiefuncties te bedienen met een schakelhendel die tevens handgashendel is. De chauffeur heeft de mogelijkheid een kopakkerversnelling te programmeren, die met &eacute;&eacute;n druk op de knop kan worden opgeroepen. Natuurlijk is de rondomgeveerde cabine standaard.
